Canary Islands, your client’s next stop?
The Canary Islands make up the Spanish archipelago that is famous for their rugged, volcanic landscapes, and both black, and white sand beaches.
The name of the island grouping is likely derived from Latin, Canariae meaning "Islands of the Dogs" (not the African finch!). It is said that the original inhabitants of the islands, the Guanches, used to worship dogs.
Tenerife is such a popular destination it has its own page. While Gran Canaria is the second most populous island in the archipelago, just 150 kilometres (93 mi) from the northwestern coast of Africa. It has been called a "Miniature Continent" for a variety of landscapes and varying climates, which make it an exciting place to visit. Many resorts can be found in the Maspalomas area on the south-east coast, towns here include San Agustín, Playa del Inglés, and Meloneras. The island is particularly popular among surfers, water-skiers and windsurfers.
