Seoul is the capital of South Korea, where top destinations include the historic sites of Gyeongbokgung, first built in 1395 during the Joseon Dynasty, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Shrine, the oldest preserved royal Confucian shrine where ritual ceremonies continue in 14th-century tradition, they can also visit the nearby Bukchon Hanok Village. Other major attractions in Seoul include Lotte World amusement park, the enormous Lotte World Tower, the National Museum of Korea, and Dongdaemun Market.
Hong Kong, the former British colony, is now an autonomous region and is best known for its skyscraper-studded skyline, with iconic buildings such as the Bank of China Tower, and the IFC (International Financial Centre). Tsim Sha Shui and Causeway Bay are major shopping areas, while at the Temple Street Night Market tourists can enjoy traditional cuisine and street performances. Tian Tan Buddha in Lantau Island and Man Mo Temple are also great places to discover tradition.
Macau is the most densely populated region in the world. It is popular for its casinos and Portuguese influence, having been a trading post and colony of Portugal from 1557 to 1999. Between top destinations like the 17th-century Ruins of St. Paul's, Senado Square and the A-Ma Temple, built in 1488, visitors should try the local cuisine, as well as great Chinese and Portuguese food on offer.
